FODMAP Free Turkey Meatballs

Delicious and healthy alternative to beef meatballs that is FODMAP Free! Serve alone or in a FODMAP Free Barbeque Sauce or FODMAP Free Spaghetti Sauce
  • 2 pounds ground turkey
  • 8 slices gluten free bread
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon dried chives
  • 1 tablespoon sage
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon coarse ground pepper
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  1. Pre-heat broiler.
  2. Place turkey in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Wet the bread in water and squeeze out excess moisture.
  4. Crumble bread into bowl with the meat.
  5. Add the eggs and seasonings and mix until completely combined.
  6. Shape a heaping tablespoon of meat into a ball, approximately 1½ inch diameter. *
  7. Place meatballs on broiler rack and cook for 8-10 minutes on each, turn meatballs and cook for an additional 8 minutes.
* The meat mixture will be very sticky. If you wet your hands with water, the meat will be easier to manage.


If you are making these meatballs for Spaghetti and Meatballs, do not broil. After preparing the sauce according to our FODMAP Free Spaghetti Sauce recipe, add the raw meatballs to the hot simmering sauce, cover and cook an additional 30 minutes (longer is ok).

Pan Frying: Preheat oil in a heavy fry pan. Prepare the meatballs according to the directions above, then roll each meatball in gluten free flour. Gently place meatballs in hot oil and cook for 8 minutes, turn them and cook for an additional 8 minutes. Remove the fried meatballs from the pan and drain on a paper towel.
